"Sometimes, to our dismay, we find we have been living someone else's life, that their values....are directing our choices." James Hollis

My name is Patrick McCurry and I offer counselling/psychotherapy for individuals and couples.

I am still accepting new clients and am offering phone and video sessions via Zoom or Skype during the Coronavirus restrictions.

I help people who are experiencing problems that may seem intractable. I see therapy as a mutual process with the client, in which we explore what the particular problem or symptom might be pointing towards in the client's life journey.

I am a psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and, as a counsellor, a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am based near Canary Wharf, in Docklands.

I also provide clinical supervision to other counsellors.

Counselling in Canary Wharf

My Canary Wharf practice is less than 10 minutes walk from Canary Wharf tube station and five minutes from South Quay DLR station, E14, near the heart of the Canary Wharf business district in Docklands.

"The therapy helped me understand what was going on beneath the surface of my behaviour and that allowed me to become more self accepting and open up possibilities for change," Simon (Canary Wharf)

I provide a friendly and welcoming space where you can talk through what is troubling you in a calm, confidential and non-judgmental environment.

I will help you explore and clarify thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be bothering you, so that together we can find a way forward for you.

One-to-one counselling

As a counsellor and psychotherapist I help individuals with a wide range of issues, ranging from anxiety and depression to lack of meaning and relationship problems.

Relationship counselling

I help couples, both same sex and heterosexual, deal with a variety of problems, including how to handle conflict, how to deal with a lack of intimacy and trust, and how to bring passion into a relationship. For more details about my counselling and psychotherapy work with relationships please visit my couples page. I have also written on different couple therapy topics at my blog

"Couple therapy helped us be more honest with each other and, even though it wasn't always easy, changing the way we communicate helped the relationship," Jenny and Karl (London Bridge)

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist trained in integrative psychosynthesis, a form of counselling that is holistic and takes into account the unconscious patterns that influence our behaviour.
